As our surveys suggest, teachers realize the importance of technology and keeping education relevant. However, teachers need more training/coaching to effectively integrate technology into their classrooms.
“Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is a framework that identifies the knowledge teachers need to teach effectively with technology” (Mishra & Koehler, 2006).
When solving our wicked problem we learned how important it is to correctly use the TPACK framework to teach effectively with technology. With coaching from Technology Integration Coach, it with ensure that the TPACK framework is correctly being used when designing lessons. A Technology Integration Coach will be able to teach teachers how to correctly integrate all of these components into developing a lesson.
